Registration

1. What does the registration fee include?
The registration fee of £38 covers the cost for all programming, as well as breakfast and lunch.
2. I cannot afford the registration fee or travel to attend the event. What do I do?
Financial aid is now closed.
3. Why is the event fee in US dollars?
Girl Up is an initiative of the United Nations Foundation, a U.S. non-profit organization. All Girl Up event registrations are in U.S. dollars.
4. Why am I unable to register multiple individuals at once?
Only one individual can register at a time. This allows Girl Up to capture all the information necessary for each participant including birthday, t-shirt size, and dietary preference.
5. When does registration close?
Registration closes on September 27 or until capacity is reached. This is a sold-out event, and we have had a wait list in past years.
6. Are group discounts available?
No, we do not have discounts available at this time.
7. What if my plans change and I can no longer attend the Summit, can my registration fee be refunded?
Yes, you can request a refund directly from the Summit registration platform, Eventbrite. Refunds will be available until 30 days before the event. If you have any issues with receiving your refund, please reach out to events@girlup.org.
8. Can my parent or chaperone register for the Leadership Summit?
No, due to high demand and youth-driven programming, no parents or adult chaperones may register for or attend the Leadership Summit. Parents with any questions or concerns should contact a Girl Up staff member.
9. Can Girl Up help me get a visa?
Girl Up is unable to sponsor any travel visas. If you are attending from a country outside the UK you must make arrangements to secure your visa prior to registering.
10. Where will the Summit take place?
Summit programming will take place at The Walt Disney Company located at 3 Queen Caroline Street, Hammersmith, London W6 9PE.

Program

1. Who can/should attend the Girl Up Leadership Summit?
Participants must be students between the ages of 13-22 to register. We encourage youth of all genders to attend!
2. When will programming begin and end?
Breakfast will be served before programming begins. Programming will finish at approximately 5 PM. We expect attendees to participate in all programming. There will be optional ice cream social immediately following the Summit, open to all attendees who wish to better connect with fellow Summit participants.
3. When will the final program be available?
Registered participants will receive periodic emails leading up to the Summit, and a final version of the program will be sent to all participants in early October. You can find sneak peek information about the program in the Summit Hub in the Girl Up Community, such as speaker announcements and workshop descriptions.

Financial Assistance

1. When will I know if I have been awarded financial assistance?
Financial assistance is need-based, which means that funds are granted based on attendees’ ability to afford Summit-related expenses. You can expect to hear back from Girl Up staff within two weeks of your application for financial aid.
2. What is the deadline to be considered for financial assistance?
Financial assistance applications will be accepted on a rolling basis and will close once all funds have been awarded.
3. Does Girl Up make travel and accommodation arrangements for those who receive financial assistance?
No. Every attendee is personally responsible for booking her/his own travel and hotel (if desired).
