Carmen Ana Amell

Carmen Ana Amell is an accomplished marketer and leader with over 15 years of experience in the corporate, advertising and non-profit sector. Although she is an American, Carmen Ana was born and raised in the Dominican Republic and has lived in 7 countries in four continents around the world.

Carmen Ana led the Corporate Sponsorship department for Save the Children Child Sponsorship program. In that role, she was in charge of acquisition and retention initiatives as well as managing high-value donors and corporate partners. In that role, Carmen Ana developed new fundraising projects which resulted in a doubling of revenues in just the first year. Before Save the Children, she served as Marketing Director for the Edna Adan Hospital Foundation, a Washington, DC-based charity, working to lower maternity and newborn mortality rates in Somaliland as well as to eradicate the practice of female genital mutilation.

She worked at J.W. Thompson in Russia and P.M.S Bates Central America as an account executive where she managed key accounts such as Unilever brands Lipton and DeBeers. Earlier in her career, she was a marketing executive at Bayer Dominicana where she was in charge of the Over the Counter category as well as overseeing the relationship with their advertising agency.

Carmen Ana is recognized for her commitment and ability to adapt to different markets and situations with creativity and perseverance, as well as for combining her skills with her passion for bringing people together to help those less fortunate have the chance to thrive.

Carmen Ana has a bachelor’s degree in marketing from Pontificia Universidad Católica Madre & Maestra in Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic and an MBA Essentials degree from the London School of Economics and Political Science.
