The Girl Up campaign believes American girls are a powerful force for change and gives them the opportunity to channel their energy and enthusiasm to improve the lives of girls in developing countries.
Girl Up works to ensure American girls have the opportunity to learn about relevant issues, develop leadership skills and become advocates for their sisters around the world.
The organizational and leadership skills developed by American girls who mobilize support for the campaign in their schools and communities also cultivate the necessary qualifications to become attractive candidates when they are ready to pursue employment and/or a higher education.
Essentially, Girl Up gives girls a platform to grow and foster the characteristics of well-rounded citizens.
While Girl Up emphasizes that American girls are the drivers and conduits of the campaign, Girl Up also recognizes the pivotal role of parents. Alongside encouraging parents, Girl Up supporters will be stronger leaders and better equipped to maximize impact.
