What is a Girl Up Club Award?

Girl Up Club Awards are an exclusive resource — brought to you by Clean & Clear — offered only to officially recognized Girl Up clubs. With the help of your adult advisor, club members can apply for an award to support a club activity or multiple activities — whether it’s putting on a big event at your school or providing a series of educational workshops in your community.

Amount:

Clubs can apply for awards of $250 - $750.

Application:

A club officer must work with your club advisor to submit an online application form and an itemized budget to be considered for a Girl Up Club Award.

Deadline:

Award applications will be reviewed at the end of every month from September 2011 through April 2012. Girl Up will select up to five recipients per month.

Criteria:

 Girl Up is looking for FIVE qualities in successful award applications.

1. DETAILED PLAN. Your activity must be well-prepared with assigned tasks, a budget and deadlines. Be sure you have thought of everything and are ready to implement your plan.
2. COLLABORATION. Your activity should engage your entire club and diverse members of your community. Brainstorm how to include your administrator, local businesses, and even your local media.
3. OUTREACH. Your activity should help Girl Up reach new audiences and extend our network of supporters. Think of ways to maximize how your club will spread the word!
4. RESULTS. Your activity should demonstrate a way to measure outcomes and the impact of your work. Set goals and have a plan to track details like number of people involved, funds raised, and number of people reached.
5. CREATIVITY. Be unique and bring new ideas to our club network! Plan an activity that no one has done before, or put a new twist on an old idea.

Responsibilities:

Award winners are required to sign an agreement that all funds will be used for the sole purpose of supporting your Girl Up club activity. You will also be required to fill out a short evaluation report after the activity is complete.
