Uniting With Boys to Change the World?

(Winners of February Club Challenge get a special shout-out from Girl Up Champion Nigel Barker!)

When I was eight years old, my friends and I built a fort in my backyard and proudly displayed a sign reading “NO Boys Allowed!”

Today, girls around the world are facing serious issues and we need boys to be part of the solution, too.

This month, as part of the February Club Challenge Girl Up is highlighting the impact that boys can make in the lives of adolescent girls.

February is a time to spread some love — and what better way than to invite boys to join the movement to empower girls everywhere?

So we’re encouraging all clubs to think of the most creative ways to get boys involved in the Girl Up campaign … however you do it is up to you!

To participate in the challenge, post a photo or video on the Girl Up Clubs Facebook group showing us how your club included boys this month.

The club with the most creative idea will receive signed copies of Nigel Barker’s Beauty Equation as well as a shout-out tweet from Nigel himself!

Girls in developing countries are at a disadvantage just because of their gender. In order to overcome the disparities that exist between girls and boys globally, Girl Up supporters are uniting to show boys how they can help girls around the world reach their full potential.

We all have a role to play and can make a difference in the life of a girl today.

The only way to create change is with the help of girls, boys, women and men. It’s our responsibility to put up a sign reading “ALL Boys Welcome!”

This month, Girl Up isn’t just uniting girls to change the world; we are uniting everyone.

I never used to allow boys in my forts either...but I suppose they can be helpful too! What a wonderful way to encourage everyone to get involved in such a great cause.
