This holiday season, Girl Up is working with you to change the lives of 2,000 girls in the Jijiga refugee camp in Ethiopia, run by UNHCR.

While these girls have fled their homes in Somalia to escape conflict and famine, the reality of life in a regufee camp means they need our help more than ever.

This spring, I went to Ethiopia and saw first hand how Girl Up is helping the United Nations solve these problems. At the Jijiga camp, I met a girl named Farhia, who for the first time has been able to go to school and feel safe.

We want Farhia’s story to be expanded to all girls in the camp.
