As 2010 wound down, the Girl Up team was excited to learn that one of the most popular clothing brands for women and girls wanted to lend their support to our cause! Juicy Couture, one of the trendiest and most fashionable brands for women and girls, had heard about Girl Up and wanted to get involved too, so they dedicated the launch of their latest perfume, Peace Love & Juicy Couture, to the campaign!
To mark the occasion, Juicy Couture hosted an intimate event at their Beverly Hills store, with none other than Kristin Cavallari (star of The Hills) on hand to lend her support. With almost 400,000 followers on Twitter, Kristin is a social media expert, so with her help, Juicy Couture launched the "Share Peace Love & Juicy Couture" Twitter campaign to benefit Girl Up. Throughout December, Kristin tweeted several messages in support of Girl Up, and for every retweet by her followers, Juicy Couture donated funds to the campaign.
Kristin said of the promotion, "I am really excited to introduce the Share Peace Love & Juicy Couture Twitter campaign benefiting Girl Up, a campaign of the United Nations Foundation. I am proud to help bring awareness to Girl Up because it gives American girls the opportunity to channel their energy and compassion to support some of the world’s hardest-to-reach adolescent girls."
When it was over, Kristin, her fans and Juicy Couture helped raise thousands of dollars for Girl Up! We couldn’t ask for better friends than that, or for a better way to end a great year!
