It’s no secret that here at Girl Up, we LOVE Victoria Justice.
From the success of her “Make it in America” tour to her first lead role in the upcoming feature film Fun Size, 2012 is Victoria’s year. So what better way to honor one of our awesome champions than by celebrating a special edition of Fab Female Friday? Victoria Justice is our Girl of the Year!
Her music gets us dancing and her movies and TV show have us laughing, but it’s Victoria’s commitment to activism that makes her a girl we truly find inspiring (and we’re not just saying that because she loves Girl Up!).
Her dedication to causes that affect teens everywhere sets her apart as a girl who shines the spotlight on some pretty important issues. This year, Victoria took the pledge to never text-and-drive, a dangerous combination that’s taking the lives of too many American teenagers. Check out Victoria’s PSA and take the pledge yourself and commit to being a safe driver.
And of course, we can’t say enough about the amazing work Victoria is doing to help teens around the world…especially GIRLS! As a Girl Up Champion, Victoria has stood up for girls around the world. From her trip to Guatemala to see the UN’s great work with adolescent girls to dedicating her birthday to our High Five campaign, Victoria has been a great representative of our campaign.
As she said in the cover interview of Latina magazine’s October 2012 issue, “There’s a lot going on this year and it’s crazy that this is all happening. I feel really, really lucky.” We couldn’t agree more, Victoria. Congrats on a great year, and keep up the fabulous work!
