Holly Gordon sat on Girl Up’s panel “Connecting Girls Around the World” at the 2012 Social Good Summit
As Executive Director of 10x10, Holly Gordon is putting girls on the map. An Executive Producer of the organization’s remarkable film, Girl Rising, Holly heads a team that wants to show the public that educating girls changes the world.
After graduating from Brown University with a degree in International Relations, Holly worked as a producer for ABC News, working on major broadcasts like World News Tonight with Peter Jennings, Good Morning America, and 20/20. Twelve years later, Holly became Director of Content for the world-famous Tribeca Film Festival. With a background in news and film and a passion for international issues, it’s no surprise where Holly went next.
In her role as executive director of 10x10, Holly Gordon has an inspiring goal: to engage the public in the plight of girls facing great hardship to show that education is key changing the outcome. “The heart of the 10x10, Gordon said in an interview with Womenetics.com, “is to tell really incredible stories that will result in investments in girls as a lever for global poverty.” With the current buzz seen around Girl Rising (have you seen this trailer?!), 10x10 is clearly accomplishing these goals!
Why is Girl Rising so important to Holly? She has said, “It is a road paved with stories and it leads to the ‘rightness’ of girls flourishing fully. The journey matters. The stories matter. And that we put things right.” With such an amazing vision for the future of adolescent girls, Holly Gordon is definitely one fab female!
