Who run the world? Girls!
We at Girl Up love to listen to songs that empower women and girls, and Beyoncé’s “Who Run the World (Girls)” definitely tops our list of favorites!
Beyoncé has achieved great success for herself as a singer, actress, and businesswoman, and she has also dedicated herself to making the world a better place.
She recently announced that she will release her music video for “I Was Here” on Aug.19 to celebrate World Humanitarian Day. In an interview with Anderson Cooper, Beyoncé explained that the song is meant to encourage people to take action and make a positive contribution to the world.
“I feel like we all want to know that our life meant something, and that we did something for someone else and that we spread positivity no matter how big or how small, and so the song was perfect for Would Humanitarian Day,” she said.
