This week, the 113th Congress was sworn into office and made record-breaking history.
Twenty female senators-- four Republicans and sixteen Democrats—began their new terms. As the highest number of women the Senate has ever seen, we are thrilled to see more female representation in the decision-making processes of our government.
In an interview with ABC News' Diane Sawyer, the female senators expressed enthusiasm about collaboration. Senator Diane Feinstein (D- California) said, “We all march to the sound of different drummers to a certain extent…but we’re problem solvers and I think that’s what this country needs.”
