In November of 2010, we followed up L.A. with Seattle. Founding partner WNBA’s Seattle Storm team hosted a reception at their offices, and the next day we held our Pep Rally. Students made signs to show their support for Girl Up and were so enthusiastic about what they were learning that they stayed later to dance and continue to share facts about girls in developing countries.

Seattle Shows their Support for Girl Up!

I had a very cool opportunity to attend a Girl Up pep rally in Seattle today. Over 150 girls came through to learn about the life of some of the girls in Africa and Latin America. I carried jugs of water with girls today who experienced first hand how heavy and exhausting it is to carry gallons of water for hours, which many girls spend their days doing in these countries.
