In July of 2010, we headed to the Windy City of Chicago to start raising support for Girl Up, with the help of founding partner WNBA’s Chicago Sky team. The Sky’s President and CEO Margaret Stender attended our reception and shared the secrets to a great partnership between organizations looking to change the world together, while hundreds of girls attended a Girlafesto Gathering on the concourse at the arena just steps away.
Later in the year, Teen Advisor Isabella and her mother Keely hosted Girl Up’s first mother-daughter reception, attended by Margaret Stender. All of the mothers and daughters were inspired to unite for girls through Girl Up! Read the blog below to find out more.
Be sure to look for our Unite for Girls Tour events in your city in 2011! Until then, check out our blogs, photos, and videos below from our Unite for Girls Chicago stop!
