Hi my name is Delia Friel and I am 14 years old and I live in Chevy Chase, Md. I attend school at Stone Ridge in Bethesda, Md.

I have three siblings, two younger brothers and one younger sister.

In school I very much enjoy math and Spanish and one day I hope to have a job combining those two fields together. Out of school I love hanging out with my friends, baking and playing sports. I Irish dance, and I play lacrosse and ice hockey. I am also involved in a program called Girls UP.

Girls UP is a program for girls ages 10- to- 13 that empowers girls to be their true selves. Girls UP helps girls find their inner voice, makes them stronger, and teaches them not to be afraid to show the world who they are.

I help Girls UP set up their summer camp and help it to run smoothly. I also help with marketing, fundraising, and various Girls UP projects throughout the year.

Girls UP really means a lot to me because this organization helped me become a stronger girl with a better sense of self.

Through the partnership between Girls UP and Girl Up, I was given the opportunity to be a Teen Advisor with Girl Up.

This chance means so much to me because I have always felt strongly about girls in developing countries gaining more freedom and this is the perfect way to help.

This year I will be able to help those girls and change their lives for the better. I am so excited to have this opportunity and I cannot wait to spread the campaign to the world.
